it is written

you may or may not have heard of Slumdog Millionaire, this year's little film that could.
it has been in theatres for awhile now, but since i live in Vernon, British Columbia, it just arrived to our Famous Players this weekend.
I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH:
GO SEE THIS AMAZING MOVIE AS SOON AS YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you will laugh, cry, and cheer throughout the movie. i saw it last night, and i am still in awe.
right after, i was speechless.
words can't really describe, you'll just have to experience it for yourselves.
the stars, Freida Pinto and Dev Patel are so excellent.
Dev Patel is the most adorable human being i have ever set eyes on; i'm a little bit in love with him.
Slumdog Millionaire was nominated for 10 Oscars, and it won 9, (including Best Picture and Best Director) losing only in the Sound Editing category.
i know i will watch this movie again and again.
AMAAAAAZIIIIIIIING!

weekend warrior

one day of skiing + pro-d day friday + saturday + sunday + no school monday = EMMA'S 5 DAY WEEKEND!

i got my DOOP newsletter today (MTV Canada's Dan Levy's weekly newsletter) and i fully intend to bake his DOOP poop cookies on these days of freedom ahead of me.
i'm also gonna make a trip to Kelowna for some much needed clothes shopping sometime this weekend.
OH and i have my second driving lesson with Ian Nudd tomorrow.

Ian Nudd.

that's actually his name! how cool is that? i feel like i'm in a comic strip. doesn't his name remind you of a character in the Archie comics? I can totally picture Jughead driving around town with a Mr. Nudd.
i like Ian Nudd. i can't wait to become an actual good driver!

how much do i want either Electric Avenue or Marvin Gaye's Let's Get It On to be our grad song?
pretty badly.
weird, you say?
well, you should've seen the other options...

chairlift chatter is the best

today, PEAK Detour skiied the Star.
i wasn't sure how well i'd do, considering the fact that i haven't put on a pair of skis for two years.
but just as i had hoped, it was like riding a bike. i skiied like a pro (well, not quite, but you get what i'm try to say). i forgot how much i like skiing!
it was a good time. i know i had fun :)
i got to sink my teeth into the legendary Silver Star fries, which were totally worth the 3.75$ (plus tax).
"artistic" photos were taken, along with very unflattering ones.
we also had a run-in with some of last year's grads:
exes shared awkward hugs and glances, we watched one of the Mackenzie twins get destroyed on an ill-fated jump, and I had the "pleasure" in experiencing a very forced, kindergarten-esque wave from across Whiskey Jack from a guy i used to be pretty good friends with.
*shudder*
i absolutely hate when that happens. it kills me a little inside.

oh yeah....
i am completely aware that Loud Laugh Boy treats pretty much any girl who isn't horribly disfigured like that, but that doesn't mean i don't appreciate the flirtation and attention.
"it's the risk that makes me interested."
"i keep wanting to call you Gemma. Because you're such a gem ;) "
"i LOVE that about you!"

oh, keep it coming...

but it's POETRY!

leaving my iPod speakers on while my iPod is on shuffle is kind of a dangerous thing to do.
last time i went in my room, Shane Koyczan's "Swallowed" was on.
that's a poem about oral sex.
a very clever and funny poem about oral sex, but thank buddha that my mom's hearing isn't that great.

stalkerboy and lonelygirl

it's 4:30 a.m.
you just woke up from a dream that consisted of a wooden house and Adam Brody in a really ugly sweater...
and then your cell phone vibrates, scaring the bejeezus out of you.
who could it be at this ungodly hour?

STALKER BOY! (who else?)

stalker boy: You there babe?
me: yeah, actually.
stalker boy: YEAH! I'm on Silver Star help!
me: what are you up to at 4:30 in the morning?
stalker boy: Drunk and thinking you're amazing!
me: hahahaha oh i see ;) who are you with?
stalker boy: No one! Help!
me: i don't think i can help you if you're way up at Silver Star and i'm all the way down here in my bed...
stalker boy: Please? I'm cold and lost! I need Emma!
me: I can't! Why are you drunk, lost, and by yourself on Silver Star?

and i never got an answer back.
let's hope he didn't stumble into a tree well and die.
i'm gonna run into stalker boy tomorrow...
(if he didn't die, that is).
i'm a little bit curious, with a large dose of terrified, and a pinch of very unimpressed.

au hazard

  • why isn't there a new Gossip Girl this week?!?!?! this whole episode every-other-week thing is NOT working for me. I WANNA SEE DAN HAVE HOT, ILLEGAL SEX WITH THE YOUNG MS. CARR!! I WANNA SEE CHUCK AND BLAIR GET BACK TOGETHER! I WANT JENNY TO GET A NEW HAIRCUT!!!!
  • i watched some livelavalive on YouTube on sunday for the first time in awhile. mitchell davis is so cute and hilarious. i've missed him. i want one of his t-shirts. he got me hooked on a band called Owl City. check him OUT.
  • we're going skating for PEAK tomorrow. i haven't been skating since sixth grade. i'm gonna make such a fool of myself. but that's OKAY. i'm gonna have to get used to that...
  • i swear, if you continue making comments about my small boobs, how i'm a "purple hulk" when i drink (YOU'VE NEVER SEEN ME DRINK!), or stand by me as i interact with the (cute) opposite sex as if you were my father, i will go deeply, madly insane.
  • i love Iman. "no more ho!" *ethiopian accent*
  • i also love our english lit class. VALDE CCRAIG! only in that class is Beowulf a fur-coat wearing, extremely long sword holding, bearded hipster kid.

apple martini

saturday was so successful!
i can't even handle it...

it started with melody, olivia and I selling chocolate lollipops to raise money for GRAD.
then olivia and i ate sushi for lunch and shopped the village green.
i bought a lime green and hot pink bra (eeee!), MGMT's Oracular Spectacular, and Ellen Hopkin's Identical.
which is so fucked up...
but that's okay, 'cause all of her books are.
and they're SO GOOD.
seriously, pick up Crank, Glass, Burned, Impulse and Identical as soon as you can.

after our successful mall spree, we saw He's Just Not That Into You.
while it sure wasn't Oscar material, it was still soooo good.
all-star casts are seriously one of my reasons for living.
Jennifer Aniston! Ginnifer Goodwin! Drew Barrymore! Scarlett Johanesson! Jennifer Connelly! Ben Affleck! Justin Long! Kevin Connolly! (who i think is SO cute) Bradley Cooper!
ok, so before this movie, i didn't know who Bradley Cooper was.
i sure do now!
this guy is hawt. piercing blue eyes, tanned skin, cute butt...
ahem;
anyways...
GO SEE IT!
you'll laugh, cry, identify, squeal and cheer.
(olivia and i sure did).

not like the other girls

while the other girls are busting slutty dance moves, i have the boys on my lap, asking them what they want for christmas.
while the other girls are swigging back vodka, i'm sipping on 7Up.
while the other girls are being pseudo-lesbians, i'm doing the Shopping Cart as the boys cheer me on.
while the other girls are screaming, "THE WORLD IS SPINNNNNNIIIIIING!", i'm holding them up, laughing in their faces.
while the other girls are blasting Danny Fernandes in the living room, i'm listening to Daft Punk in his car...

just dance (and shop)

yesterday was really awesome.
my mom, kayla and i went to kelowna for some shopping and the So You Think You Can Dance Canada concert.
i bought black suede ankle booties that have fringe on the sides from Aldo. the guy working there was exactly like Onch from Paris Hilton's "BFF" show. he had flat ironed hair that was in an a-symmetrical cut, black nail polish, stylin' boots and the most feminine walk i've seen from a guy. all that was missing was pastel clothing and liquid eye liner!
after going to pretty much every restaurant in kelowna only to find a construction site or a huge line-up, we decided to eat at Wendy's. kayla and i taught my mother the magic of dipping your fries into your frostee. she actually liked it!
the SYTCYD concert was soooo good. we had pretty good seats too. oh god. nico archembault can twirl me around any day. he's so uncontrollably HAWT. he's so modest too. he came out and said "can i just say 'thank-you' ? " gaaaaaaaaaaaaah so adorable. at one point, he kissed allie's forehead, and all the women inside prospera place sighed and awwwwwwwww'ed. i LOVE a man that can dance. so sexy. everyone in the top 10 is so talented, it hurts. they are so thankful and down-to-earth still.
i managed to get some good pictures, but my camera is going into cardiac arrest, so i'll hopefully post some later!
