peter pan

my dad just tried to teach me how to do my taxes.

i don't want to grow up.

..

if it makes you happy
it can't be that bad
if it makes you happy
then why the hell are you so sad?

in the middle of the ride

nothing like going 100 km/h on the first truly warm day of the year, windows down, wind blowing, blasting Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle".

she's real

"I think technically the 'girl of my dreams' would probably have, like, a really bodacious rack, you know. Maybe different hair. Probably - You know, she'd probably be a little more into sports. But, um, truthfully, Robyn's better than the girl of my dreams. She's real." - (500) Days of Summer

mazel tov!

just a thought: it's kind of hard to work on your 2500+ word essay when your mother is singing selections from Fiddler on the Roof in the kitchen. she'll hum and sing all quietly, then suddenly yell "TO LIFE!" as she chops a carrot.

I. CAN'T. CONCENTRATE.

she's got you - patsy cline

I've got your picture that you gave to me
And it's signed with love just like it used to be
The only thing different, the only thing new
I've got your picture, and she's got you

I've got the records that we used to share
And they still sound the same as when you were here
The only thing different, the only thing new
I've got the records, and she's got you

I've got your memory, or, has it got me?
I really don't know but I know it won't let me be

I've got your class ring that proved you cared
And it still looks the same as when you gave it, dear
The only thing different, the only thing new
I've got these little things, she's got you

hurricane

"i wanted so badly
to lie down next to her on the couch,
to wrap my arms around her and sleep.

not fuck, like in those movies.
not even have sex.
just sleep together, in the most innocent sense of the phrase.

but i lacked the courage
and she had a boyfriend
and i was gawky
and she was gorgeous
and i was hopelessly boring
and she was endlessly fascinating.

so i walked back to my room
and collapsed on the bottom bunk,
thinking that,
if people were rain,
i was drizzle
and she was hurricane."

rilo kiley

and the grass, it was a-ticking
and the sun was on the rise
i never felt so wicked
as when i willed our love to die
