recently...

  • i cannot for the life of me read Frankenstein. The semester is a week old, and already I am in trouble. I really like my new english prof, so I feel bad, but I JUST CAN'T DO IT. I've been doing everything but reading that book. i pick it up, read about two sentences, then notice something shiny, or check my facebook for the umpteenth time, or go cut my nails. Sorry, Prof. Bowman-Broz.
  • i've been so busy figuring out what the hell i'm doing this year, that i've kind of forgotten that i need to start planning NEXT year. again, i am at a loss. shit...
  • sometimes, it feels like coffee does nothing in the waking-you-up department, and then there's the times when you take one sip, and literally feel the caffeine running through your veins, waking you up one limb at a time. this morning was one of those times.
  • i just read a really great book: Girls in Trucks by Katie Crouch. it's sad, funny, and doesn't sugar coat anything. my kind of read. check it out.
  • i finally saw (500) Days of Summer. oh my god, i'm in love. so good. SO GOOD. "i'm sorry, darling, but there seems to be a Chinese family in our bathroom." Joseph Gordon-Levitt, come find me.
  • seeing the very first boy to ever tell me i was beautiful, even though it was 4 years ago, still makes me... flustered, i guess? yeah, he's a hockey-playing douchebag from what i've heard, but i couldn't help but feel nostalgic for the days when we'd talk about how nervous we were about auditioning for the school play over MSN, or the heartbreak i felt when i saw him kiss his new girlfriend in gym class. ahhh, the joys of living in a small-ish town.
  • speaking of small-ish towns, whoa, yeah, i definitely had a run-in that made Vernon feel microscopic. it involved sailor hats, long text sessions, old best friends, a supposedly broken-hearted boy, an awkward stoplight interaction, driving around at 3 A.M. and seeing her car in front of his house... all i could do is laugh, really. honestly, what else is there to do?
  • i might be Crave Massage's new receptionist. thanks Darcy for referring me, even though i constantly turned down your "let me take you out for lunch" propositions haha =) i also applied to Starbucks and Safeway. I'm hoping for Crave.
  • being on that couch in that living room is what gets me through the week. that's all i'm gonna say.
