lately

  • got a pedicure for the first time yesterday. my toes are now a pretty, shimmery dark purple
  • bought those studded Roberto Vianni gladiators that i've been wanting for months now. i was surprised to see they were on sale for only 40$. AND they had my size! it was meant to be =)
  • i am loving The Lovely Feathers' "Wrong Choice" and Daniel Merriweather's "Change".
  • Paramore finally has some new music out! The debut single "Ignorance" has the same basic idea of No Doubt's "Excuse Me Mr.". I guess touring with them had its effects...
  • had sushi today with my dad after having a meeting at the bank to set up a savings account for school. made me feel oddly grown up. SO WEIRD. i felt like i should've been wearing a suit, not a Zoo York t-shirt and jeans. at lunch, i chatted to my dad about school, his work, family that will be visiting... my dad referenced a Bruce Springsteen song somewhere in there =) (i secretly really enjoy Bruce Springsteen's music)
  • okay, so Katy Perry was on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire a few nights ago, and she came across as the stupidest, ditziest human being alive. it was the strangest thing; she was obviously putting on an act because i've seen interviews with her where she came across as much more... competent. Not sure why she felt the need to play the part of ditz on an intelligence-based game show...
  • i finally watched Zach Braff's Garden State a few nights ago. i didn't love it like some people said i would, but i did like it. Natalie Portman is adorable in this movie as Sam. i realized that Zach Braff reminds me of Keenan Nurmsoo.
  • Roots & Blues this weekend! i finally get to see Bedouin Soundclash live! so excited, especially since that cute guy from my brother's camp who was flirting with me when i picked my brother up one day will be there as a stage manager. backstage pass, perhaps?
  • my August Nylon finally arrived. the article on Sienna Miller made me love her. i love it when articles make me see a new/different side of celebrities. it was an ELLEgirl (R.I.P.) article on Hilary Duff that made me change my opinion from fiery hate to pleasant liking back in like, 2005.
  • i drove out to the Starlight Drive-in last night with my mom and brother to see Harry Potter (thanks, Molly, for only charging us admission for one!). i'm becoming more comfortable with highway driving. i LOVE driving, and can't wait to get my N in november. i'm dying for a road trip.
xoxo
